It's that time of year again when the MA in Literature and Publishing class of NUIG are looking for submissions for the annual publication ROPES. This year, they're accepting fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
Unfortunately, the maximum word count for prose is only a measly 2,000. Not leaving much room for writers who've been averaging about 5-6,000 in recent stories. But anyway, size isn't everything. If you have something that might fit the word count, and the theme of "coming of age", why not submit your work? (Deadline: 14th Jan 2013.)

If you fancy throwing heftier pieces of prose out there, there's a website which specialises in such renegade activities:

Long Story, Short are looking for work of 4,000 words or more. And there's no point in me explaining anymore when their website does a better job of it. Happy reading and writing, everyone.
