Interesting article in The Guardian, about self-publishing. We're still at a very uncertain stage as regards the future of publishing, but it's clear that a very open mind and honest criticism are very valuable qualities for any writer. There are interesting statistics to back up the success of authors who have had their work edited.

Just read a fine short story by John Walsh, published recently by Doire Press in the collection Border Lines. It's called 'Hawk', and involves a teacher, a reference to Man United's 1968 European Cup triumph, a Minister and...That's all I'm giving you. Okay, I'll just say there's a nice sting towards the end.
