This is interesting. Words Ireland – a collective of seven Irish literature organisations – is initiating a total of eleven literature mentoring relationships in 2017.
They're seeking writers of adult fiction, YA fiction, children’s fiction and poetry to apply for mentoring support under its National Mentoring Programme.
Five mentee opportunities are open to writers resident in any county in Ireland, north or south of the border.
A further six mentorships are offered in partnership with the Arts Offices of Leitrim, Limerick, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and the Arts Office and Libraries of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. These county-specific opportunities will guarantee at least one mentee opportunity to an emerging writer who was born, or is resident for the last two consecutive years, in any of these local authority areas.
Writers from all counties are encouraged to apply. Mentee opportunities are open to writers of any age, race, gender, sex, nationality who are resident in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland. Mentees will avail of the relationship for free. There is no fee for application.
